Rhodanthe Lipsett Indigenous Midwifery Charitable Fund Board

"Burbangana Group was asked to run some training and facilitate planning for the Rhodanthe Lipsett Indigenous Midwifery Charitable Fund board. Burbangana is a deadly First Nations owned and managed consulting firm that we requested to assist us being a First Nations charity ourselves - it made sense to support other Blak organisations that understand the importance and need of the work we do.

From our first interaction Burbangana was so helpful and flexible with our requests, especially around the agenda and then travelling to Sydney, where the majority of our Board lives and works. This made it easier to arrive and have everything planned out and know exactly how the days would work to make best use of our time.

Rod Little was our facilitator for two days - one for Governance Training and a full day of strategic and operational planning. Rod kept us on track, especially as this was the first time this board was together in person. Rod was great at engaging the group around governance, especially for those board directors without formal training and new board directors. Rod used his own many years of experience to allow us to understand the challenges of running a board and his comprehension of the legalities, roles, aspirations of our organisation etc was imparted to all of us in attendance.  It was empowering to have a room of First Nations people sharing space and time to work towards our common goal. So much was discussed and planning for 2023 has been made easier because of the great facilitation and format of our days together.

We are so thankful for Burbangana, Karel and Rod in particular for supporting us on this journey and we look forward to working with Burbangana Group in the future".

Waminda South Coast Women's Health and Welfare Aboriginal Corporation

Waminda, South Coast Women’s Health and Welfare Aboriginal Corporation has engaged Burbangana several times over the last couple of years. We have found the whole team to be highly professional, culturally safe, intuitive, creative and passionate about the work. We highly recommend this group above all other consulting firms that we have engaged with primarily because they have walked alongside us on important projects, respecting our every wish and investing in us and the project to such an extent that many of our successes can be attributed to their hard work”.
